Child Nutrition Program

California became the first state to establish a statewide
universal meals program, offering free meals to all students.
Our Child Nutrition Programs continue to participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which traditionally provides free or reduced-priced meals based on family income. However, thanks to the Universal Meals Programs, all student now have access to nutritious meals at no cost.
At Thermalito Union Elementary School District, our Child Nutrition Department is dedicated to serving healthy, delicious meals made from scratch. We go beyond standard menus by thinking outside the box to create fresh, well-balanced options that students enjoy.
In addition to lunch, we are excited to share that free breakfast is now offered daily in the cafeteria at every school site. Starting the day with a healthy meal helps students focus, learn and succeed.
We are committed to nourishing students with wholesome food choices that fuel their bodies and minds.
