LEARNING IS FUN

"Play is our brain's favourite way of learning."
                                                                                          —Diane Ackerman

Learning doesn't have to be boring; it can be a fun adventure!

Imagine discovering dinosaurs while building a cool model or exploring math through games and challenges. Learning new things can be exciting, just like finding a treasure map or solving a puzzle. Engaging in games and activities makes learning more enjoyable.

Think of rhyming games, building with blocks,
or even playing hide-and-seek to learn about shapes!

AFTER SCHOOL LEARNING PROGRAM

More Fun after School

The Thermalito Union Elementary School District (TUESD) is excited to announce that beginning the 2026-27 school year, our After School Program will be operated directly by the district.  By bringing the program in-house, we will be able to provide a high-quality, inclusive, and engaging experience for students, with staffing managed by TUESD employees who know and care about our school communities.

The Thrive After School Program is available to students in grades TK-8 at Nelson Avenue, Plumas Avenue, Poplar Avenue, Sierra Avenue and Siskiyou Avenue Schools.  The program begins when the final school bell rings and remains open until approximately 6:00 p.m. each day school is in session, including minimum days.

Students recieve homework assistance and participate in a variety of enriching acitivities designed to support academic growth, creativity, physical activity, and positive social connections.  Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where students can learn, explore, and have fun beyond the school day.

Looking ahead, TUESD is also exploring opportunities to offer day camp programs during school breaks such as fall, winter and spring recesses.  More information about these potential programs will be shared as plans are finalized.

Enrollment information and applications will be available through your school office.  Additional program details will be shared with families as they become available.

We look forward to serving our students and families through this exciting new chapter for TUESD's Expanded Learning Program.
