The Thermalito Promise

When your child starts school, it can feel like an emotional tug-of-war. You want them to thrive and grow, and this new journey at the Thermalito School District is a wonderful opportunity for them. As this season of change and challenges unfolds, it may bring feelings of loss and sadness as your relationship evolves. It’s natural to look back on the days when they were just little ones who loved the playground with fondness.

Finding a balance between who they were and who they are becoming is a beautiful challenge. To support your child effectively, we promise to recognize their capabilities and celebrate the courage it took to reach this point. From a place of acceptance, you can empower them, too, to make their own choices, encouraging their independence.

We’re here to support you on this journey—feel free to share your thoughts or questions about your child’s development. Together, we can inspire growth, happiness, strength, and resilience.

Shady Creek

Our yearly Shady Creek School Program: Nature starts here

Every year we make our trip to the Shady Creek Outdoor School. They offer a residential environmental science program for 5th and 6th grade students. It combines hands-on science learning with activities designed to foster personal responsibility, observation skills, self-confidence, and cooperation. Students participate in classes like creek ecology, forest ecology, and geology, alongside activities such as team building and survival skills. The program emphasizes caring for the environment and each other, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Four and five day residential programs:
– Developing a feeling of personal responsibility
to help preserve, conserve and enhance our environment.
– Developing heightened observation skills to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
– Developing a feeling of self-confidence and self-acceptance, while also instilling the ability to cooperate with and appreciate the diversity of others.
