Our TLC Preschool Concept
Our philosophy of preschool education inspires a dynamic range of learning and teaching approaches. It is dedicated to nurturing children's thinking, communication, and social-emotional skills through exploration and inquiry. We champion play-based learning, celebrating creativity, self-directed exploration, and the power of community.
This approach unlocks countless benefits for children's development, preparing them for kindergarten, fostering social and emotional growth, and laying a strong foundation for academic success. It also nurtures physical development, language skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Mascot: The Dog Puppy
A puppy embodies innocence and a childlike wonder for the world, reminding us of our desire to help others. It encourages us to recognize that true assistance comes when people are ready to help themselves. This innocent spirit embodies untamed curiosity that urges us to explore life with wide-eyed enthusiasm.
The puppy also symbolizes our longing for connection, belonging, and the trust we place
in one another. In various spiritual and cultural contexts, dogs represent loyalty, protection, companionship, and unconditional love, serving as guardians of sacred spaces and as
messengers between the human and divine realms.
Our Color: California Yellow Poppy
Yellow poppies embody the spirit of optimism and the ability to see the bright side, while also connecting us to positive memories. In various spiritual traditions, yellow shines as a symbol of joy, happiness, and enlightenment, linked to the sun's warmth and energy. The essence of yellow represents optimism, enthusiasm, joy, wisdom, hope, and intellect. A person who loves yellow radiates positivity, hopefulness, and adventure, continually striving for enlightenment and embracing spontaneity with a smile.
About Our Program
At TLC Preschool, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment where young children can grow, learn, and explore. Our program is designed for children ages 18 months to 5 years old, offering both part-day and full-day options to fit the diverse needs of families in our community. We believe that early childhood education is the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Our highly qualified teachers use a play-based curriculum that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Children are encouraged to explore, question, and discover in a safe and supportive setting. Whether your child is in the early stages of development or preparing for kindergarten, our program is designed to meet them where they are and help them thrive.
Program Options
Part-Day Classes:
Our part-day classes are designed to accommodate families seeking a more flexible schedule. These sessions provide a rich, focused learning experience in two convenient time blocks:
Morning Session: 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Afternoon Session: 11:45 AM - 2:45 PM
Each session follows the same high-quality, play-based curriculum, giving children the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in a supportive and engaging environment. Families can choose the session that best fits their schedule and needs.
Full-Day Classes:
Our full-day program is available for families who require extended hours. The full-day schedule is contracted based on your family’s specific needs and provides a comprehensive day of learning and play. Full-day students enjoy a mix of structured activities and free play, along with time for rest, lunch, and snack breaks. The full-day option allows for deeper exploration of learning goals and fosters a strong sense of community in the classroom.
We work closely with each family to customize the full-day schedule, ensuring it works for both the child and the family’s lifestyle.
Toddler Program: Early Head Start Funded
Our Toddler Program, serving children ages 18 months to 3 years, is funded by Early Head Start, a federally funded program that provides high-quality early education to low-income families. This program offers families a unique set of criteria and funding opportunities to ensure that children in their earliest stages of development receive the support they need.
Eligibility Criteria for the Toddler Program
Because the Toddler Program is federally funded through Early Head Start, it has specific eligibility requirements which differ from our general preschool program. Families must meet certain income guidelines, and priority is given to those who are experiencing financial hardship or other specific challenges, such as:
– Families with income below the federal poverty level
– Families experiencing homelessness
– Families receiving public assistance (such as TANF or SSI)
– Children in foster care or with disabilities
What Early Head Start Provides
Free Tuition: Families who qualify for Early Head Start will not pay any tuition fees for their child’s participation in the Toddler Program.
Comprehensive Services: In addition to early education, the program offers a range of services to support family well-being, including health screenings, nutrition education, and parenting support.
Family-Centered Approach: Early Head Start works to empower families by offering resources and connections to community services, ensuring both the child and their family thrive.
Why Choose Us?
– State-Funded: As a state-run program, we offer affordable tuition and financial assistance options for qualifying families.
– Qualified Educators: Our teachers are passionate about early childhood education and are trained to provide an engaging and supportive learning environment.
– Inclusive Environment: We welcome children of all abilities, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and succeed.
– Safe & Caring Atmosphere: We prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of every child in our program, creating a space where children feel secure and loved.
Affordable Tuition and Financial Assistance
We believe that every child should have access to quality early childhood education, regardless of financial circumstances. To support families in need, our program offers free tuition for families who fall under 85% of the state median income.
How It Works
– Families who qualify based on income eligibility will not be required to pay any tuition fees for our preschool program.
– Eligibility is determined by the family’s income relative to the state median income, ensuring that those with the greatest financial need have access to free early education.
