Tori Anderson - Board President
I am honored to have this opportunity to serve our community as a Board of Trustee for the Thermalito Union Elementary School District. I am excited to work as a team with my fellow board members to help guide the direction of our district to ensure that our students have every possible opportunity to succeed and exceed!
I was born in Denver, Co. and spent most of my youth in Vacaville, Ca until my family moved to the small town of Oroville mid high school. Thankfully they did as I met my high school sweetheart, Paul, in Oroville and we made Thermalito our home after our marriage. We have 5 beautiful children, 4 girls and 1 boy. Our children have attended school in the TUESD district starting with preschool and currently have 3 children attending Poplar Avenue Elementary and 2 attending Nelson Avenue Middle school. I also helped raise younger siblings who also attended TUESD schools. During those 13 years of having students in the district I have seen many changes which inspired me to get involved.
Some of my experience serving in the district include President of the School Site Council, initiation of a PTO organization, with some amazing parents that have turned into great friends, and serving as a parent representative at several district level committees including the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) committee. I love being involved with the decision making process and sharing of ideas. I will always strive to represent the best interest of all students.
Darlene Fultz - Board Vice President
I was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2010. I retired as a Para-educator from the Thermalito Union Elementary School District after 33 years of service. My tenure included service at all five Thermalito schools: Plumas, Poplar, Nelson, Sierra, and Community Day School. I was also a substitute at TLC Preschool.
I attended Butte College and CSU, Chico with an emphasis on Child Development. I have been married to my husband, Ken, for 40 years and we have two beautiful adult daughters, Andi and Allison. Both of our daughters attended Thermalito schools K-8 and successfully graduated college in Health Care Administration and as a Registered Nurse, respectively.
One of my goals in retirement is to continue to be of service to the Thermalito Union Elementary School District and in my community of Thermalito.
Alicia Walker - Board Clerk
I was raised in the Santa Cruz area and shortly after graduation from Soquel High School in 2002 I moved to the Oroville area with my family who were looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. Moving to Oroville was a bit of a culture shock but now that I am raising my family here I could not imagine being anywhere else.
My husband Keith and I have been married for eleven years and have lived in Thermalito since 2006. We have five children: Cayden, Drake, Ethan, Nolan and Chelsey, who all currently attend Thermalito Schools. I have enjoyed volunteering in my children's classrooms, putting on school family nights, and attending field trips and school dances. I also have been involved in many school committees, such as PTO, Site Council, LCAP and DPAC.
As an involved parent I have proven through volunteering in the many committees and councils that I will ask the hard questions, do my own research, and will think outside the box. Most of all I am committed to advocating for what's best for the students of Thermalito. TUESD is a great district and I am excited and honored to have the ability to serve my community in this capacity.
Jaymes Lackey - Board Member
I was born and raised in Thermalito. I love this community. It most certainly is home. I went to every school in the district at the time (Poplar, Sierra, Nelson). Afterwards I went to Oroville High School, Butte College to earn two AA's, Chico State University to earn a BA in Sociology, and on to Seattle Pacific University for a Master's degree.
I am married to Erin Lackey and we have three amazing children - two of which are school age and attend school in the district. I am a credentialed Substitute Teacher in local districts and an ordained minister at The Table Church.
I am committed to education because it was incredibly helpful in my own life for overcoming the obstacles present in our community. Because of the opportunities education has afforded me, I hope to help students receive and achieve all they can. Areas I have served/volunteered/attended are: substitute teacher, Parent/Teacher Organization President, School Site Council, LCAP, and District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC). Now, as a board member, I hope to have an impact at a greater level that helps our students thrive. Thank you.
Mark Walker - Board Member
My family and I have been residents of Thermalito since 1990 and I have been employed by Lifetouch School Studios since 1994. My son and two grandchildren have all attended Thermalito schools. While they were students I became interested in being a board member and was elected to the board in 1998 serving through 2010. After being away from the board I found that I was still interested in education and decided to run again. I missed being a part of helping to make a difference for the children of Thermalito.
I consider it an honor to be serving the students of Thermalito schools and the Community as a member of the Governing Board for the Thermalito Union Elementary School District again.
