• Jaymes Lackey - Board President

Jaymes Lackey Photo  I was born and raised in Thermalito. I love this community. It most certainly is home. I went to every school in the district at the time (Poplar, Sierra, Nelson).   Afterwards I went to Oroville High School, Butte College to earn two AA's, Chico State University to earn a BA in Sociology, and on to Seattle Pacific University for a Master's degree.

I am married to Erin Lackey and we have three amazing children - two of which are school age and attend school in the district. I am a credentialed Substitute Teacher in local districts and an ordained minister at The Table Church.

I am committed to education because it was incredibly helpful in my own life for overcoming the obstacles present in our community. Because of the opportunities education has afforded me, I hope to help students receive and achieve all they can. Areas I have served/volunteered/attended are: substitute teacher, Parent/Teacher Organization President, School Site Council, LCAP, and District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC). Now, as a board member, I hope to have an impact at a greater level that helps our students thrive. Thank you.

  • Rick Meyer - Board Vice President

Rick Meyer I am honored to have this opportunity to serve our community as a Board of Trustee for the Thermalito Union Elementary School District. I have lived in Thermalito for more than 29 years.  I started working for the Thermalito Union Elementary School District in 1994 and after 25 years I chose to retire.  I worked in the Maintenance Department for 21 of those years and was active with CSEA at both the local and state level.  I have a passion for education and the school system.

I have 3 beautiful daughters, Riki, Carly and Shelby.  Riki graduated 8th grade from Nelson Avenue Middle School and is a licensed physical therapist in South Carolina.  Carly is a 2nd grade teacher at Helen Wilcox in the Palermo School District and Shelby is a teacher at STREAM Charter School.  As a member of the Board of Trustees I will be able to continue to support the students and families of the Thermalito Union Elementary School District.

  • Mark Walker - Board Clerk

Mark Walker Photo My family and I have been residents of Thermalito since 1990 and I have been employed by Lifetouch School Studios since 1994.  My son and two grandchildren have all attended Thermalito schools. While they were students I became interested in being a board member and was elected to the board in 1998 serving through 2010. After being away from the board I found that I was still interested in education and decided to run again. I missed being a part of helping to make a difference for the children of Thermalito.

It is an honor to be serving the students of Thermalito schools and the Community as a member of the Governing Board for the Thermalito Union Elementary School District again.

Tracie Biddle-LewisI am elated to serve as a member of the Thermalito Union Elementary School Board.  I have been a resident of Thermalito for over 8 years and love the small community and schools.  Having been born and raised in a big city, moving here was a great decision for my family.  I am a mother of 3 daughters and a son, Reyzana is a graduate of UC Riverside, Michelle is a graduate of Sacramento City College, Alex is a graduate of Paul Mitchelle Barber College and my son Tyler graduated from Oroville High School and is serving in the US Navy.  I am an extremely proud parent that knows the struggle of wanting the best for her children.
