I've been very involved in Thermalito schools since my youngest son began attending them. I've volunteered in the classrooms, taught art to the students, reviewed school text books and helped in whatever way I could. Since serving on the Board I have seen many monumental changes in our district which include a new school, new gym and a new Community Day School. I feel that working as a team we can meet challenges and overcome obstacles that may arise and still provide a well grounded, quality education for our students. My goals are to encourage even more parent involvement in our schools and with our board. I love being stopped on the street and asked questions by parents - listening and being responsive is a big part of what a board does. The children in our community are our future; we owe it to them to give them a great education that will prepare them for their future. |
