Darlene was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2010, she is a retired Para-educator who worked for the Thermalito Union School District for 33 years.  Her tenure included service at all five Thermalito schools: Plumas, Poplar, Nelson, Sierra, and Community Day School. She had also been a substitute at Bright Beginnings Preschool.

Darlene attended Butte College and CSU, Chico with the emphasis on Child Development.  She has been married to her husband, Ken, for 40 years.  They have two adult daughters, Andi and Allison, both attended Thermalito schools K-8 and successfully graduated college with Health Care Administration and Registered Nurse, respectively.

One of Darlene's goals in retirement is to continue to be of service to the Thermalito Union School District and in her community of Thermalito.
